As we approach the conclusion of the development year, the APAA academy reflects on a year of hard work, welcoming both returning and new players. Our primary focus remains on ensuring players enjoy soccer while developing their skills. Our divisions cater to ages 5 to 10, fostering creativity and imagination without pressure, emphasizing friendly matches throughout the week.
Moving into U12 and U13, a more structured development approach is implemented, allowing clearer observation of players’ progress. The U14 and U15 divisions introduce greater pressure and intensity. Beyond U16, we enter Phase 4, evaluating players to provide technical assessments at the year-end closing.
This year featured a local league, adapting and enhancing our sports facilities. In 2024, we return to the Mayfair League across all categories, fostering positive competition and player improvement.
Recognizing varying talent levels, our phased approach ensures comprehensive development. Some players are already identified for graduation to the development team in the 2024 season.
Players and families are urged to be patient, understanding that development is a process. Attendance on weekdays is crucial, with Saturdays prioritized for games. Balancing study and sport is emphasized to all players.
APAA extends invitations to teams for friendly games, contributing to our social responsibility. Teams from various locations in South Africa are welcome to participate.
The closing ceremony on December 2nd at 9 am marks the end of the season, featuring merit certificates and technical evaluations for each division.
We remain committed to keeping you informed about our ongoing developments.
