APAA CONTINUES WITH GREAT SUCCESS IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND GRADUATION OF PLAYERS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

We continue to report on the development of players across all divisions, with updates provided during the week of events.

In previous years, we remained committed to our vision of advancing players from the academy to development stages. This has always been our primary objective—players enter the academy with the initial goal of practicing their favorite sport. From there, they aim to improve their skills, focusing on key areas like technical proficiency (the highest priority), tactical knowledge, and physical conditioning, which is age-appropriate. It’s important to note that every aspect of development has a purpose—training is never just for the sake of training.

Each day of training is designed with a clear objective to help every player improve. In 2023, we saw players graduate from the academy, moving forward in their development and becoming stronger competitors. As we move into 2024, we maintain the same vision. We are incredibly proud of the way both players and their families collaborate with continued enthusiasm. Naturally, some families are unable to attend all the training sessions and league matches, but soccer is unpredictable—some progress comes quickly, while other improvements take time. However, with passion and determination, success is always possible.

Now, as we approach the end of September, we find ourselves just two and a half months away from finishing the practice season and starting the league. We are in the process of evaluating all the players to assess their performance throughout the year. Individual, group, and team evaluations are crucial to understanding each player’s level.

We are already seeing significant progress in many players, and it’s clear that some are ready for the next step, while others may need more time. Those who consistently work with dedication are recognized, and some are already playing for PSL teams in various divisions, as well as in other SAFA leagues. Some have even gone on to represent their country at the national level.

As we continue to monitor development, we are identifying players who are ready to be recommended to PSL teams for further assessment.

The academy’s main goal and vision remain clear: to elevate every player to the next level, helping them realize their dream of playing at a high level while also emphasizing the importance of education.
