APAA LOCAL DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

Hello friends and soccer fans!

I apologise since I have not been able to inform you about the activities of APAA.

APAA Local Development League

First, the local development league continues on alternate weeks. We have already been playing in this league for five weeks. It began with teams that had the priority of playing to develop their players from different academies and clubs only with the idea and objective of development since winning is part of the game but improving and being better is something else.

So at the headquarters of APAA Johannesburg Secondary School in Mayfair, we have been playing in the categories U10, U13, U15, U17, and U19. As I said, alternate Saturdays are played. You can see the talent on these teams. This league has several objectives.

Playing reduced soccer fields until the age of 13 and also numbers of players; for example, the U10 plays 12 minutes at a time with 8 players in total.

The U13 team plays nine players in total for 14 minutes per game.

Then comes the U15 teams, 11 vs. 11, with a time of 15 minutes, like the U17 11 vs. 11 with 20 minutes, and then the open with 20 minutes of 11 vs. 11. The time is reduced to be able to finish the games early, and at the same time, the changes are open so that everyone can play. This is an experimental league where there are no paid registrations, but each team pays the referees.

Fields are well equipped with what is necessary to play soccer, and the identification of players is important, especially for APAA, where younger players continue their development.

I congratulate all the teams that are playing with the utmost seriousness since the objective is to improve their development.

Many teams have wanted to participate, but we have limits since we have to reach the goal in the competitive part; that is why it is called the Local Development League.

Some coaches have a SAFA licence, which they continue to study to be better.

Appreciation for family members who support players and friends who attend is very important.

that this league continues with the enthusiasm that is observed.

We will continue to report on this league and the players who each week demonstrate their abilities and progress in their development.
