APAA SATISFIED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLAYERS WHO STARTED AT AN EARLY AGE

Football fans, welcome back after a long time! Although it’s been a while, my passion for writing about football in all divisions remains unchanged. From the early days of youth development to the dream of becoming a professional player, it’s every young footballer’s greatest aspiration.

 

Teboho Mlangeni and Kamohelo Mareletse, two players developed by APAA from a young age, have now been selected for the South African Under-17 National Team. Both athletes currently play for two of the biggest clubs in South Africa—Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

These two promising stars have already played in five preparatory matches against various countries as part of their international journey. Recently, they returned from Ivory Coast, where they competed in friendly matches as part of their preparation for the COSAFA competition. This tournament serves as a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the top eight countries will compete. Four of these nations will then qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Qatar in 2025.

Teboho and Kamohelo are both versatile players, excelling in defensive and attacking midfield roles. Their technical skills and game intelligence have allowed them to stand out on the field. APAA has a proud history of developing players who go on to represent their country from a young age, and these two are no exception.

Today, I want to highlight two talented players from Soweto who continue to make APAA proud, not only through their performances but also by representing South Africa on the international stage.
